Nevermind, found the problem. In the css the path for the background jpg wasn’t for the local .jpg file.

Now moving on to try and figure out what the image at the top doesn’t load.

Thanks for the free skin Ben. I’m doing something wrong, and I hope you can tell me what it is. I am trying to change the background, so after saving a back up of the background image, I opened it, changed the colors, saved it and uploaded it to the custom/images folder where the backed up orignal was.

Nothing changed. Hell I couldn’t even get anything to change when I changed the image link in the css. I thought it must be that I have this cached, but cleared my cache, and then tried two different browsers…still nothing.

So what do I do to modify the background jpg?

Laurence, that’s a very good point. All my skins assume you name your folder thesis, not thesis_16, thesis_17 etc. Good catch!

RE: The image not showing up in the features post:
I am using Thesis 1.7 and I think this might happen on 1.6 too?…….

in customfunctions.php I noticed the line:
echo ‘/wp-content/themes/thesis/lib/scripts

when I changed “/thesis/” too “/thesis_17/” the featured image worked.

Sara, the skin doesn’t uses Thesis’ native settings importer. You need to install the Import/Export plugin as the directions state.

I admit I am pretty new at this…but when I upload the file to site options I get this:

Whoops! The file you attempted to upload is not a valid Site Options file. Please try uploading the file again, or else download a new, valid Site Options file.

This is the file I am using and I am using thesis 1.7.

Any thoughts or assistance will likely save me hours and hours of going in circles!

Thanks Ben, I did drop the image url into the post image field when I set up the post (which actually is only the image) but still it doesn’t show up.

“…imply drop widgets into your sidebar.” I know this is a no-brainer once you’re familiar with how that’s done. The side bar menu then is a text widget, I’d guess, with html code. I’ve copied the html code from your template using firebug and inserted it to the sidebar, but then the formatting is broken, the menu container isn’t centered and overlaps with the content column. So I’m missing something somewhere. Btw, did you check your mail yet?

Walter,

1. The sidebar items are simply widgets that can be dropped into your sidebar.
2. The URL for the image needs to be dropped into the Post Image field that should show up below the post.

Hi Ben,

Thanks for making your Thesis skins available for free. I installed the Affiliate skin and am running into 2 issues.
1. The sidebar menu doesn’t show at all
2. The same problem that Lori had but luckily seemed to have solved: the feature box is not showing. I uploaded the pic I want to use from my hard drive to the post and also put the pic into the custom/images file but the pic is only showing up on the post itself. Could you give me a hint?
